The Galle Fort Hotel began life as an 18th Century Dutch villa and along the way has taken many guises from RAF barracks, post office, bakery, lapidary and in the recent past a pitch for the Fort’s young cricketers.

This 11-suite boutique hotel has since gained an impeccable reputation for the highest levels of service, along with many accolades from the ‘Asia Pacific Heritage Award of Destination’ by UNESCO to being awarded ‘Leading Boutique Hotel in Sri Lanka’ by the World Travel Awards for three consecutive years.

Garden Room. Offering a very comfortable spot in which to put down roots during your holiday, our Garden Room is ideal for two people, and offers cozy proportions, modern amenities and easy access to our frangipani scented courtyard and the swimming pool. ;
Loft Suite. This suite is a titanium floored, two storey room featuring a sitting area and the bathroom downstairs and a king size bed upstairs. The suite opens out onto a verandah offering views of the courtyard and pool. A six-meter atrium rises to a skylight behind thestaircase, offering additional light to the room. ;
Porcelain Suite. This suite features a tilemarble floor, bathrobe and air conditioning. Includes Dutch shuttered windows, antique cabinets and decadent four poster bed. ;
Library Suite. This large suite is perfect for two people who love each other but value their personal space! It contains an enormous sofa as well as an oversized bath tub in the main room, and antique wood features add a quirky touch to the step-down bathroom. ;
Admiral Cheng Ho Suite. This suite, decorated with antique Chinese and South-East Asian fittings, features an antique Chinese opium bed as its’ centerpiece. A spiral staircase in the corner leads to an unusual feature: a mezzanine floor with a queen size bed; ideal for a family or group of friends travelling together. ;
Grand Apartment Room. This room on the top floor of the Heritage Wing features antique chests, cabinets and a Dutch spiral four poster bed, and giddy views of the pool and courtyard. ;
Grand Apartment Suite. The apartment is also located on the top floor of the Heritage wing overlooking the pool and courtyard, and has one king size bedroom with a separate, grand seating area. The bathroom has both a walk-in shower and a separate tub. ;
Terrace Suite. Providing free toiletries and bathrobes, this double room includes a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, a bath and a bidet. The spacious double room provides air conditioning, a tea and coffee maker, a seating area, a wardrobe, as well as a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. The unit offers 1 bed. ;
